Lions Car Line Reminders
A lot of cars come through our car line each morning and afternoon, so to keep things safe and moving smoothly, please follow these important reminders:
If you choose to drive your child, be prepared to wait in the line. Do not pass other cars, park, or drop off anywhere except the designated spot.
Bad weather can slow things down — plan extra time on those mornings.
Students must be able to unbuckle and exit the car independently. Please stay in your car at all times.
Children should always exit on the curbside near the sidewalk — never on the parking lot side.
Have backpacks on and kids ready to hop out when it’s your turn.
Students may only get out at the staffed drop-off point — for their safety, this rule will be strictly enforced.
Students are tardy after 7:30 AM.
Thanks for helping us keep arrival safe and efficient!
For safety reasons, students cannot be picked up during the last 20 minutes of school, per Hampton City Schools policy.
Car line is from 2:05 to 2:30 PM in the car loop.
All families will receive a car tag with a number — this number must be clearly displayed in your front windshield during pickup.
Always have your car tag when picking up your child. Without one, you may be asked to park and check in at the office with a valid ID.
Students should know their car number. This helps us match them quickly and safely with the correct vehicle.
School staff will be stationed in the car loop to supervise and direct students into vehicles after verifying car tags.
Please remain in your car at all times and follow the directions of staff to keep the line flowing safely and efficiently.
Do not pass cars or exit the traffic line — safety is our top priority.
Children must wait to be called and walked to their vehicle by staff. Do not instruct your child to walk out into traffic or cross to the opposite side of the car line.
If your child needs help entering the vehicle, staff will assist — please be patient and stay in the line until directed to move forward.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our Lions safe and ensuring our car line runs smoothly each day — morning and afternoon!
